Sand Filtration Systems

Sand filtration systems are used to achieve a clear water appearance by eliminating undesired parameters, such as suspended solid matters, residues and dirt that could cause turbidity in water and affect its appearance. These systems are preferred as they do not require an operator and have a storable structure, thanks to the fully automatic operation principle and compact design. In sand filtering systems with low initial investment cost, filtration is obtained by quartz and graded gravel minerals. In a system with correct sand filtration system design and high efficiency operation, the load sent to the other filtration systems is minimized. Sand filtration systems prevent blockages in machinery/installations and increases in energy consumption by ensuring the removal of undissolved suspended solid matter. The filtration accuracy of sand filtering systems operating in a pressure range of 3-8 bars can be as low as 20 microns. As the main component of sand filtering systems automation valves perform backwashing automatically according to the predefined schedule.

Active Carbon Filtration Systems;

With the active carbon filter, undesired odors, chlorine and its compounds, detergent and industry waste, organic substances generating an unpleasant flavor and substances such as petroleum and asbestos can be eliminated. The active carbon mineral used in the filtration system is obtained by burning coconuts at a high temperature. Additionally, active carbon is a material with a coal-like but immense (1,200m2/gr) surface. Active carbon systems perform a physicochemical treatment. As the active carbon mineral is not able to dispose absorbed chemicals, such as chlorine, by means of backwashing, it becomes saturated after a while. Active carbon piles up the organic substances within its body and if there is any bacteria in the water, they can reproduce by using this organic substance as a nutrient.
